The Jews were believed to be the chosen flock in the days before the life of Christ. He was the self-proclaimed Messiah that the Jews were waiting for but they didn't recognize him as such. Apparently he did not fit the expectations that the Jews had of someone who would be their King and the Son of God. His life gave rise to a new religion called Christianity where Christ was the central figure. Most of the Christian religions believe in the second coming of Christ. Perhaps they will again have false expectations of what this "second coming of Christ" will be like and completely miss him. Heck, he could already have been executed in Texas!
