You are sorely mistaken if you think Linux is "better" than Solaris. As for your "PC has more memory", that's funny. I don't know of many single processor x86 machines with more than 2GB of ram (chipset limited), that sun machine you're complaining about probably is capable of 24-36GB of RAM.

Work for Sun - hardly. But I've been a *nix sysadmin long enough to have first hand experience with all of them.

Granted the Linux solution is very compelling, most cad/eda tools aren't yet available - but they are coming.

BTW, four computers in a "network" is not the same as a quad processor box. Then again, since AMD doesn't know anything about SMP it appears you don't either.
