In my experience when someone does this (ie the Controller adjusting the books) he wouldn't stop there. I'd be surprised if this $2.2 item is the only adjustment.

I don't have any actual hands on experience but as an ex auditor I've read many case studies. Auditors are trained to be aware of the various methods used. Surprised the Controller was not aware of this. You can hide some things for a quarter or ten but @ some point the culprit makes a mistake, gets careless or is no longer in a positon to cover up.
