MU Uggglllyy numbers.... & MU DID NOT BEAT ESTIMATES

MU lost .04 per share. The $.01 loss being mentioned is from the "continuing operations" which relates to the MUEI spinoff of the PC biz, etc. When the analysts made their estimates, this was not counted in. As such, MU pulled a gimmick out of their @SS & the press is comparing wrong numbers to analysts estimates.

Overall:
On the market side (horrible):

-Consolidated net sales of $1,066 million v. 1,572 million last year
-Inventories up 14%, up 66% from Aug. 31
-Net sales decreased 33% sequentially
~50% decrease in average selling prices for memory products
~Gross margins on these chips 18% v. 49% sequentially

Execution side (not looking good)
-COGS 865.4 v. 681.1 (2000)
-SG&A 130.9 v. 103.3 (2000)

The BONUS: Interest Income this Q was 39.6 v. 2000 expense of 2.7
