Greg,

The church that mentioned was a fringe Pentacostal group. I attended it initially due to some family ties to the ministry. I left when the Pastor sold the church and pocketed most of the money. The situation was documented by an ABC TV station based in SF,Ca.

At the time I wasn't aware that they were not fully sanctioned by the United Pentacostal Church. That fact was revealed toward the end of my attendance.

They talked often of the harvesting of souls. Looking back I strongly feel that that particular church was a cult. They did not want anyone to " go into the world and mingle with the people". Instead they told you to keep amongst those of your own faith or the devil will lure you into a false faith.

I had family members in the church so I attended to keep in touch with them. They went beyond the limits of any reasonable person who had faith in a higher being. They used so much fear on their congregation that the God they described had alot in common with an Arab terrorist. They had alot in common with this link below:
