With Clawhammer expected to be <100mm² and the "64bit-ness" only accounting for an increase of a few percent (5%?) according to AMD, I don't see any reason to continue Tbred and Appaloosa in 2H'02. Additionally, infrastructure should be much cheaper for the Hammers (due to LDT replacing EV6). Once the infrastructure for the Hammers is in place, I don't think AMD will continue producing all that many EV6-Athlons.

It is very, very unlikely that things go that fast. I never saw a new platform being ramped so fast, so expecting it from AMD is even more unrealistic.

OTOH, the move from slotA to socketA went very quickly (merely 4 months) so I don't know what to think about it. Another thing that makes a 100% switch unlikely is Austin, which probably won't produce 64bit chips, but rather mobile and desktop Morgans, in huge volumes (say 6-7 millions per Q, if demand is there).

But you talked about Tbred and Appaloosa, while AMD talked about mobile versions of the Hammer, it's likely that it'll consume a lot more power than Mustang family on .13u... maybe SOI will make up for that. Anyway a couple of .13u wafer could produce LOTs of Tbred and Appaloosa (5% for the 64bit-ness but 60-70% for the new 8th gen infrastructure)
