Paul,

Here is the article from Dvorak:

www8.zdnet.com

He makes some mistakes (says K6 is a six layer process when AMD says that it has 5 metal layers) and believes that socket 7 is better than slot one, intimating that small motherboard manufacturers will lead Intel to re-architect their solutions.

Interestingly, while he discusses the issue of socket 7 vs. slot one, he doesn't discuss the advantages of slot one nor the relative performance, only the statement that socket 7 is better.

In his Inside Track column, he suggests that Intel will bring the Merced out more quickly in response to his expectations of market acceptance of K6.

Paul, care to respond?

Larry
