But looks like Japanese are not gonna take the advice and try that wonderful cooperation between GSM/EDGE/WCDMA. How dumb they are. LOL

That's hilarious. so trying to claim the OFDM crown now? The similarity between EDGE and OFDM is like bike and car both have wheel. The crux of OFDM is to use very narrow carriers, usually around 1Khz so that the data is really distributed into multiple low rate stream. with the very narrow frequency and low data rate for each carrier, the delay spread is long therefore high terloerance of multipath. But in EDGE, the only thing it has is multi carriers plus 8 PSK mod and a little link qulity control. It is not the right way to take advantage of OFDM, it is just a brute use of wider bandwidth.
