Wow Scrapps, sorry to hear. Maybe all those caveat emptors we keep seeing in the trade presses are not so far off base. Still waiting on US West here, according to my new ISP. If I don't get better than 33.6 I'm going to be really disappointed. I suppose I should test my line like you're doing. But if it works it works, and if it doesn't...I'll deal with it then. I have no idea how far away the CO is from me, but if it is downtown, that would be 8 miles....:( not good at all. Corrosion in the line, wow. I would keep on their case and push them for a time frame for getting that corroded line replaced. Monopolistic telco system is a curse...Be glad you don't have US West. What they have a monopoly on is consumer complaints to the State Utilities Commissioner. DK
