OTHER ONES' FALL APART
According to a report on LAUNCH, the Other Ones -- the Grateful Dead spin-off band featuring singer-guitarist Bob Weir, percussionist Mickey Hart, and keyboardist Bruce Hornsby -- have broken up after just two spins around on the Furthur Festival. Hornsby told LAUNCH he left the group so he could pursue his own musical projects, including a new album he's already working in. "I quit the Other Ones," said Hornsby. "Yes, I quit that, so there won't be any this summer. They're trying to put together a Furthur Festival with Ratdog and a couple of other groups. But, no, the Other Ones, as far as my involvement with it, that's over. I'm done." Hornsby said he "sort of" gave his notice in October, about a month after the tour ended. LAUNCH said Furthur Festival organizers are working on this summer's lineup, and there some buzz that funk legend George Clinton will be on the bill. launch.com |
