Andy if you go to the Petition site and read the technical discussion you will find that the variabilty of the output of the sun is massive and the cycle of years, decades, centuries and millennium are not know.

I also recall the dessertification of land areas is also thought to greatly impact global temperatures and this occurs as the human populations expands and cuts down forest to fields to overgraze and then desert.

So it seems to me that the whole thing is a theory and the guys saying it is fact are as smart as Dan Rather who said about the CBS call of the election of Sore. " If cbs declares A winner you can take that to the bank"
