VIA is beginning to look like the AMD of 2001; both AMD and Intel need to watch their backs! I don't think the C3 will be anything like the Athlon in terms of performance of how it changes the companies situation. If they can make twice as many from a wafer it might be a good low end chip, but with Durons and lower speed Athlons and Celerons selling so cheap its hard to see how Via can make a fortune from this chip. The "Ezra" will supposedly operate at 1.2ghz next year but by then 1.2ghz will be a low end chip, and that assumes no slippage in Via's schedule. There might be good non-PC, or low end laptop uses for the chip if it runs so cool that it doesn't need a fan. It could be a money maker for Via. Tim
