keep in mind that >80% of coal production is tied up in long-term contracts -- not exposed to spot -- this is largely overspill from the economics of the spike in the price of NG, resultant draw down of coal stockpiles, etc.

I won't call some of those intermediate NG plants "malinvestments" yet ...

This will disproportionately hit the smaller players first.

Could be really serious if it persists more than 3 - 5 years
