I understand being infatuated with indicators and systems. I'm definitely in the house.

My concern is I never here anybody say anything about how they come to their particular conclusions about a system. In other words, HOW DID THEY TEST THE SYSTEM? I see systems come through that I know havn't been tested correctly. I at one point posted many of them myself. I can't emphasize this strongly enough. If you aren't testing correctly you don't know what you really have.

You can waiste alot of time not knowing how to test. I may be completely off base but I suspect many have this problem. Richard got me pointed in the right direction as far as testing and it has made all the difference. If you want to and have the inclination send me a short list of the stocks you are refering to when you say:

"I tested the system, and with some stocks it missed some long-term uptrends, declining and going under 0 when the stock was still moving up. I'm guessing that this can be fixed by changing some of the variables, as you suggested, and I'll experiment with it."

Also take a few minutes and describe your test to me.

Do your tests show Dahls' primary trend to be a good, average, or bad system in plain profit/loss terms?
