John-

I know you said you'd keep your mouth shut about Greenspan but don't you think he specifically targeted the Naz with his interest rate hikes?

There is no denying the stock market played a big role in determining Greenspan's interest rate policy. The man took every opportunity to let the world know that equity prices were too high and kept raising interest rates when inflation simply did not exist.

And now that equity prices have fallen so drastically, the stock market is of zero importance to him in determining current interest rate policy.

I don't think you can have it both ways, although Greenspan is telling us he can. If he's going to intentionally deflate equity prices, he should be prepared to throw out the life preservers when people are drowning.

Personally I think the Fed needs to be more accountable for its actions and I would like to see an investigation into the financial activity of friends and relatives close to Greenspan.

It'd be interesting to see if people close to Greenspan were able to side step the minefield he laid out that many of us were caught right in the middle of.

Our elected officials are very good at wasting taxpayer money investigating matters of no importance to the average American. They can surely afford to spend another couple of million trying to find out why the economy lost $4 trillion dollars in buying power.
