res- I believe its intent is to empower private citizens by limiting the huge advertising clout of the unions and corporations Question: How does limiting campaign contributions by unions or corporations make it easier as an individual to have their voice heard? The only person (s) McCain Fiengold empowers are "Big Media" and anyone else involved in the media. It closes down the voices of the people, who may want to pool their resources together in order to influence voters. In effect, it silences criticism from individual voter(s).
