Kevin, you still haven't addressed the question I posed. How can an individual person compete more after McCain/Fiengold?

McCain/Fiengold doesn't empower the individual person. It empowers the state (meaning government officials) and the media (meaning television broadcasters, radio broadcasters, and newspapers).

If someone wants to oppose a measure pushed by big media, after McCain Fiengold, forget it. Who has the individual resources to take on big media?

Neo's example is right on the money. If it wasn't for large groups of Americans putting funds together to support advertisements against HillaryCare. The public might not have been informed about its impact.

We are dealing with political free speech here. The first amendment was written exactly for this purpose.

Let me put it another way. What is a television station or a newspaper anyway? It's a group of people who have a goal and opinion. Supporters pay a subscription, or pay for the opinions contained within. They write those opinions every single day. Why are they free to say whatever they want in regard to national issues, but other organizations are not?
