Frog, You are going to need a big profit warning from Microsoft to see 41. You probably missed out better shorting opportunities elsewhere by wasting your time with Softee. I believe MSFT was very cautious in giving guidance as they probably don't want to make profit warnings a regular occurence. Their guidance comes at the earnings and if they stay in line with Rick Sherlund's low numbers for 2001 and 2002, don't expect the stock to drop.

There are a lot of investors like myself that think Microsoft is glad that there has been this bursting of the technology bubble. Microsoft is going to emerge very strong out this slowdown.

If there had been NO downturn, I believe Microsoft would have been heading down relative to the rest of the tech stocks. What is happening now is the total opposite.

We are now seeing a RE-BIRTH for the company. If the investment company sees that, look for MSFT to head higher. Any positive guidance from the company .....look out!
