Perfect Trader Sues Mysterious Canadian Government Unit
SatireWire: Liechtenstein, March 30 2001 -- Perfect Trader announced today that it has initiated a suit against a mysterious branch of the Ontario provincial government called the "OSC".
Herman Cheatham, managing partner of the firm Cheatham Dewey and Howe, and corporate council to Perfect Trader Pty, commented "In this action we seek compensatory and punitive damages against the Ontario Securities Commission. The 'OSC' has started to promote financial services and a web site, modelled in a large part on business practices developed by Perfect Trader."
"http://www.NoRiskWealth.ca constitutes a clear and present danger, and potential significant competition, to our firm." Dewey further explained "We first became aware of this sham, this mockery of our business model, when a current subscriber of our services accidentally logged on to the OSC site rather than ours, as the techniques employed by the OSC in promoting their financial products are identical to ours."
"We also intend to launch a suit against the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, for their part in promoting the despicable infringement against our copyrighted materials and business practices. "

When asked about the size of an award that would be sought, company officials were silent. One mistrusted source, who asked to be named Brookelise, indicated that at least eight figures and possibly figure eights would be sought. |
