Waiting for the buying opportunity that isn't here yet.

We might be in our opportunity phase right now. That positive announcement on the quarter BEAS is a bit of the light showing up at the end of the tunnel.

In addition, this major unloading of tech stocks was window un-dressing. I can't image the aggressive sellers of stocks like SUNW will still be around next week. The balance may shift to the buy side. Stocks like SUNW that got beat up so much have the greatest potential gains in the near term (1 month). It would suprise me if SUNW does not hit the mid 20s by late next month. Even 20, provides a great return from current levels.

Expecting tech to make a big short term push that is better than the market itself but expecting the broad market to catch up later. The highest short interest is in tech and any significant buying went result in a lot of short covering rallies in the very near term.

That announcement by BEAS combined with another 1 or 2 other big techs saying positive things could be the spark but the move may be rapid. I am going to position ahead of next Friday's employment report...very overweighted in tech, including SUNW.

What makes me positive is that everybody seems to be taking the view that waiting til mid April is better time..ie. getting all the bad news out of the way. I think the stock prices are reflecting the bad news already and my bet is that it won't be as bad.
I remember a lot of "experts" saying buy in September 2000 during interviews in July 2000. Of course, August was a great month in Naz gains. I am keeping that in mind when I hear the buy later viewpoints.
Of course, I may be very wrong in becoming aggressive next week in my trading.
I think it is an easy bet...but i have thought that before.<g>
Lots of lessons learned just in the past 1 year. Humbling experience for momentum traders like myself. Still...I am very optimistic for the short term trading but will evaluate the situation for the longer term investments in a few weeks. My hunch is that even longer term the market is the best place to be but with diversification in various sectors.

good luck to all.
