I was under the impression you started shorting Amazon before they expanded into other markets...



I believe I did start in 1997. I would have to look. I shorted more heavily when they expanded their product lines. The intitial model had a chance so it did seem like a good short on FA but clearly not on market conditions. The bizarre action of management in 1998 made the longevity of the firm impossible. I thought I would be able to hold the short but a 10,000% increase was a bit to take.
