Scumbria.. I half expect Bush, in the face of all this withering and growing opposition across the world to his Kyoto decision... . to start playing the "us against the rest of the world" card.. trying to use patriotism and such to rally americans to his cause... I wouldnt be surprised if he broadcast live from the White House.. complain about how poor america was being bullied.. and then whip out the US flag and start proclaiming such stirring phrases as "I'm proud to be an American.. God Bless America.. its the American way" and start chanting "USA USA USA" ... the sad thing is.. a fair number of Americans probably would fall for this jingoism. I dont know if you remember the posting I sent to Ted joking that Nostradamus's prediction that a villiage idiot getting to lead the village - getting appointed to do so - at the start of the millenium was an obvious correct prophecy of Bush getting to power the way he did.... but I'm starting to seriously believe Nostradamus was indeed correct.
