glenn, i agree companies can make some crumbs - amzn has excepted themselves due to high debt service.

seriously, though, crumbs. do best buy, circuit city, etc all charge the exact same amount for the same products? in many cases, no.

do people pay more than the minimum cost for said goods? many times, yes. does this help margins? yes!

the net reduces the number of people paying more than the minimum.

bad for business, in general. sure, there are specific examples that go against the rule. that doesn't make the rule invalid.

would you like to try and sell diamonds to an all knowing guy (god's cousin, maybe?) who wanted the best value in the world? i wouldn't. chances of me offering that are near nil. knowledge is killer. the net increases knowledge.
