-- VirtualChina.com ceases operations
-- archives at virtualchina.org
-- Virtual China ORGanic (VCORG) experiment begins April 5th

After running out of operating funds last June, Virtual China Inc. stopped producing daily original news and feature coverage at virtualchina.com and closed its Manhattan offices. Later that fall, virtualchina.com permanently ceased operations. Archives of content produced by virtualchina.com through November 2000 are available at virtualchina.org. The archive home page will be improved over the next few months to make access easier. If you're looking for new, China-related, English language content, try visiting the sites highlighted here.

International media including Reuters and ZDTV, have reported on virtualchina.com's life and recent difficulties. While Virtual China does not necessarily agree with all the facts as they are presented or the conclusions made by the reporters, to date they remain the best source of public information on the last days of virtualchina.com.

Virtual China Inc. remains a Delaware corporation with shareholders and assets including multiple China-focused domain names, online business trade names, copyrighted news and feature content, good will, trade secrets, proprietary software and databases. If you have specific questions about the company please contact Kenneth Farrall, Virtual China's founder and chairman, at kfarrall@virtualchina.org.

Mr. Farrall currently volunteers his time to direct Virtual China ORGanic (VCORG), "an experiment in self-sustaining, user-driven, China-focused information spaces." The VCORG experiment will begin on Thursday, April 5th. More information about VCORG and how you can participate will be posted here in the next few days.
