At some point this country needs to address our incredible appetite to consume. It's not our God-given right to barrel down the highway at 80 mph (while talking on a cell phone) in gas-guzzling SUV's. It's not our God-given right to keep building one-family houses on three acres of land in what used to be Midwestern farmland or forest. It's not our God-given right to pretend that global warming is a joke when scientists in the U.S. and abroad are warning us that bad things are happening at the poles in terms of ozone depletion, icecap melting and changes in ocean currents ... all of which could have a profound effect on the weather for the next 10,000 years. Hello! The alarm is sounding. The rest planet Earth is worried but the Chimp in Chief and his Republican contributors from the oil and coal industries are telling the rest of the world: Screw you. We can pay a little now or we can pay a lot more later. P.S. By the way, you forgot to include Dan Burton, Weasel/Hypocrite-Ind., with the termites in terms of damage to the environment.
