I have somewhat of a similar style. I work with 2 to 4 stocks in a day, and always the same stocks from day to day. When I get in a rut (from a profit perspective), I'll test a new stock.

Like you, I also get a feel for how certain market participants can move a stock. How the game works.

One example involves MASH (Schwab's MM). 7 or 8 times out of 10, if Goldie (or another MM) is the only one on the ASK, and then MASH joins, the other MM on the ASK will rapidly exit and leave MASH standing alone, where it inevitably soon gets swamped. The bid/ask then ratchets up.

It's fun to see the above scenario unfold. And this is the kind of stuff you just get familiar with over time.
