I have a hard time believing that these suburbanites are willing to buy the Left/Media line whole when the reasonable side is presented. It's possible that Republicans will have to speak more to the issue at election time instead of falling into media-dictated formulas. But that's the real job of political leadership and the Republicans are just starting to figure that out again. Just as the Clinton tax recession is now emerging to alter the stale economic debate, the prospect of these suburbanites suffering from brown outs, blackouts and tripling of power bills before the 2002 election offers a chance for the more worthy politicians in their areas to copy George Bush in making the common sense case against environmental fraud.

We shall see if the Republicans have what it takes...
