WILLISTON, N.D., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- GeoResources, Inc. GEOI , a diversified natural resources
exploration and production company,
today announced that it completed drilling operations on the Ballantyne-State/Steinhaus H1 ("BSS H1")
horizontal well 1 gross (1 net) in the Wayne
Field, Bottineau County, N.D. The BSS H1 was spudded on May 21, 1997 and reached a total depth of
8,100 feet measured depth on June 6, 1997. The pay zone in the Wayne Field occurs at approximately 4,000
feet true vertical depth. By reaching a total depth of 8,100 feet, the BSS H1
attained a horizontal lateral length of 3,708 feet in the Wayne Field pay zone. Completion operations on the
well will begin in about a week, and the
Company hopes to have the BSS H1 well on pump production by July 1 to establish initial production.
