Sorry! I am a computer programmer, so I will set you straight.
DOS was originally developed by a small firm in Seattle.
(Actually, by ONE guy, but I forget his name)
Bill Gates initially paid $50K for DOS. It was a rippoff of CP/M.
IBM contracted Gates to develop DOS because Gary Kildall of Digital Research was reluctant.
As for PRST, I expect them to be bought out one day by Kodak or Agfa,
so you may be right to say that they may not be around in 5 years!
Dont stay short for 5 years though!
