John: When you short a stock, you have to take the risk of unexpected good news from the company. However, this is no bigger a risk than unexpected bad news from a company when you are long its stock. I didn't short this one as a day trading stock. Rather, I shorted it because of its fundamentals and as a hedge against my longs in this "overvalued" market. No one knows when this market will tank. It has been overvalued for many years according to some people. However, if the market tanks, companies with poor fundamentals, such as OPTS, tend to go down faster. Regards, -- James
