Windows 2000 preferable to Windows ME for some reason?

YES! Windows 2000 compares to Windows ME in a manner similar to Windows 3.1 comparing to MSDOS.

The differences aren't quite that stark, but close.

I had not realized how confusing Microsoft's choice of "ME" Millenium Edition as a name was. Many people seem to be thinking that ME (Millenium, that 2000 thing or is it a 2001 thing?) is the same or closely related to Windows 2000.

Windows 2000 is the latest update to Windows NT.

Windows ME is the latest update to Windows 98.

Totally different. Get Windows 2000 Professional and nothing less!

Cheers
Michael
