Craig,My hat's off to you!

So you are the one who actually wrote the WANG word processing program. What a coincidence that a company named Wang would come along and buy it from you. Kinda like Lou Garrig dying of Lou Garrig's disease. (just kidding). Yes that was a long time ago. But the Wang WP machine and the program was a big deal back then. You are a real part of history. So from now on I shall treat you with the reverence you deserve.

Didn't that program require a very specific keyboard with special keys? I remember in the 80's I bought my first computer ( a COS Memory Master), a CPM machine with 2 floppy disks which held 128 kb each. The entire Wordstar program fit on the first floppy and documents created would go on the second. Imagine that, a word processing program that fit on 128 kb. It came with Datastar as well. Wordstar was special in that it was the first program of it's kind that would work with all of its functions on any keyboard by incorporating the control key and combinations of that control key with the alphabet keys. I miss that program. I still remember most of the commands and I can still beat the pants off anyone using MS word, especially when it comes to reformatting and moving things around. For all you young things out there, in those days we thought a mouse was a furry little rodent. Can you imagine using a computer without a mouse? Yes that was a long time ago.

I hope that when your deal goes through, that you will tell us all about it, and please let us know when an article does appear about your company and the buy out so we can read about it. I am sure many on this thread would like to know the details. Nice going. Can't you at least tell us the name of the company in the meantime?

Regards,

Steve 667
