Well Zen, a small amount of identifiable nasty waste is order of magnitude easier to contain and isolate the mountains of a deadly chemical set that is distributed all over the place. When you speak off all those sources you have know clue as to the scale of required storage when natural disaster takes out hundreds of square miles.

Zen you have opinions but as far as I can tell no direct knowledge of any kind of systems engineering.

You use fud about some master calamity and don't know what is or is not designed into the safety of current nuclear plants. I guess you may be a jack lemon jane fonda educated nuclear expert. But seem clueless as to the scope and scale of engineering required to have 24x7 99.9999% of the time.

Zen you speak of all the natural energy sources. The universal problem that you don't comprehend is the lack of energy density and the consistancy of all the abundant so called natural energy sources.

Nature because it cannot be controlled dictates that natural energy sources are a poor choice for any major portion of 24x7 99.9999% available capacity. Nature because it cannot be controlled dictates that mountains of battery chemistry sets represent a mind boggling possibility of a mammoth environmental disaster.

Rolling blackouts are now, Nuclear plants are operating now with and amazing safety record. I'm open to phasing in and learning the realities of alternatives. But for the present I chose the known safe solution where I have a hands on knowledge of the warts.

Engineering is about creating the possible safely. Safety is about using acquired wisdom and proceeding cautiously into the unknown. Clueless techno retards understand none of this.
