The point in the Swiss example is that proliferation is not the problem (licensure for personal ownership of weapons is laxer than in the States), but the lack of socialization and training in the proper use of weapons.

The matter with Jamaica is that Draconian laws were ineffectual, and merely encouraged official abuse. In the case of the UK, the point is that more restrictive laws did little against rising social friction, like the increase in non- white immigration, which has exacerbated racial tension.

Anyway, you betray your bias by equating guns with disease. I myself do not own a gun, have never owned a gun, and have, in fact, an mild aversion to guns. But I understand that guns are not a disease, at least.......
