Alcatel do have a very elegant solution: Integrated ATM & ADSL. It was being shown at TELECOM last year. Whilst it is DMT it is not standard, and somewhat lower speed. "who is in front ?" I'm biassed, but I would say that Analog Devices was! We announced standard compliant DMT chipset last year. There are now a number of people (eg NorTel's Coppernode, Ericsson Schrack, Alcatel, Orckit) with captive solutions, and a growing number of semiconductor manufacturers taking an interest (ADI & Moto for a long time; now joined by Harris, NatSemi, TI, etc) May you live in interesting times... rupert baines
