notion that environmental protection or clean-up will wreck the economy is a pro-business fallacy.

Anytime you force a new cost on business, it has a chilling effect. Notice what increased cost of money (interest rates) and increased cost of energy did to the US economy in H2 2000.

Its just an excuse concocted by pro-business people in the hope they wont have regulation forced upon them to implement proper pollution controls that prevents them from making as much money as they can.

I wonder if your motivation is anti-business or pro-environment, and I always arrive at a conclusion that your motivation is more socialist, anti-business, anti-american than pro-environment. It seem that you are a lot more excited about business making less money than a possible environmental benefit.

I think a tour of Easter Europe prior to 1989 would have been very educational. The bottom line is that socialism is very dirty.
