Dear Kevin: The crime rate has more to do IMHO with the type of population then with the guns. Take Florida for instance, we have a high minority population, a high transient population, a high immigrant population from "hot blooded" countries and the fact we have a high crime rate does not surprise me in the least. I was surprised about Oregon being on your list. Secondly, there VAST majority of crimes are non violent types such as auto theft and the like and dont involve guns. JDN
