That was why people used to care about dividends.>> Rick, That's also why people diversify their wealth into different stocks (my utilities are doing quite well as my techs plummet; they also pay a decent divy), bonds, real estate, cash or cash equivalents, precious metals and other investments. Maybe some can call the tops and bottoms in all of these markets but I can't. I shoot for a consistent return on the total portfolio over a reasonable period of time. Some years are great; some so-so. Investing in stocks (or any other asset class) does not have to be an either - or, mutually exclusive decision. BWDIK. ......VVVVVVV
