Actually Japan has never really had an honest stock market because of the extensive cross-holdings that aren't permitted here.

And it's going to take years for businesses and banks to slowly unwind these positions onto the public markets.

And weakening the value of the yen is bullish for assets other than cash savings or JGBs, namely the Nikkei (as well as the dollar).
