Redbook average rose 0.4 pct 4 weeks March vs Feb
NEW YORK, April 3 (Reuters) - U.S. retail sales at discount, chain and department stores were mixed to below plan for most retailers as cooler weather shifted shoppers' attention away from spring goods, Instinet Research reported in its weekly Redbook Retail Sales Average on Tuesday.

The Redbook Average rose 0.4 percent during the first four retail weeks in March compared with the same period in February. Redbook's target was for a 1.4 percent rise. Last week the Redbook average climbed 0.5 percent for the first three weeks of March compared to February.
