<<he (AG) is encouraging the "take your profits and run" mentality rather than the buy and hold for the long term. I think he has done more long-term damage than he knows, and to that extent, Diamond H has a point.>>

What we are seeing is one end of the two headed spear of emotions that are always present in the markets. At one end, the spear point is fear. At the other end, greed. In between is a spectrum running between the two extremes. We are now on the spear point of fear. Just as few wanted to sell Qcom at $200 because they might miss out on the last nickel, many get washed out when panic sets in. That's the nature of markets and has been for centuries if not millennia. The extremes are always "extreme". Many of us have seen it happen before and some will see it happen again; maybe several times. It's simple but appears complex due to all of the side issues distracting our view. Not much use for picking individual stocks but useful in examining the big picture as a basis for a decision about whether or not to participate in holding a particular class of assets.

Ricks points are of interest. It's the mix of respectfully presented viewpoints that makes the board worth anything, IMO.

Good luck to all!

(Nostalgia: Remember all of the chanting several years ago announcing the new paradigm and the end of economic cycles? We'll look back and say, "I was there", just like some remember Peter Max posters and wide bell-bottoms with fringing.)
