I have my candidate (having just done my sons'taxes). In the late summer of 1995 Kiplinger's Newsletter (which I don't read and certainly don't recommend) recommended Immulogic Pharmaceuticals (IMUL) as a good long-term buy. At the time the share price was ~ $11.00. Within six months it did get up to ~ $ 20.00. Today (4/3/01) you can buy all you want for
$.06 a share (that's right, 6 cents a share). Don't get me wrong, I wasn't hooked by Kiplinger's in 1995. I was hooked by my own enthusiasm years earlier. Caveat Emptor: all you enthusiasts of Praecis Pharmaceuticals (PRCS) beware. The same scientist, Malcolm Gefter (who I personally like) is behind both companies. Let's hope that he has learned as he has aged, like the rest of us biotech investors.

best regards from Cambridge, MA.
