I didn't hear myself imply that what the Chinese do is by any stretch of the imagination somehow laudable, as your rhetoric suggests. I am simply stating that it is best to leave the internal matters of sovereign states alone unless our vital national security or significant economic interests are at stake. The Chinese human rights abuses simply do not rise to that level. In fact, to preach about the abuses is counter-productive.

The Chinese abuses do, however, provide a fabulous soap box stand on which politicians may stand. And that is where the canker lies.

I would, of course, make an exception for genocide. I don't think that genocide is an issue here.
