Ok Svenlar:

I use a product called Chartsmart to do my nightly "scans". If you are not familiar with it, you can read about it on their website.

chartsmart.com

This is not a web-based service. I download daily data each evening and then just use the product on my PC. I actually use it in two ways. First of all, I have several collections of stocks that I can scan through charts of very quickly...much more quickly than calling them up one by one on an internet site. PVTL and EXF are in those groupings and that is actually what I meant when I said I saw them on my nightly scan.

I can also use filters to select stocks matching certain criteria, which is what you were referring to. I don't do too many of these, as I find that there is just about always something of interest going on in a few of the stocks I follow. Would like to do more, however. One scan I do each night is to show all stocks on the TSE with decent volume that are making 10 week highs. By running this on a regular basis I can see which sectors and stocks are starting to show strength and hopefully catch them early.

There are actually a number of scan criteria available for MACD and STOCH (nothing for CMF). That was one of the reasons I felt it might be worthwhile to learn a bit about these...to see if there might be some scans worth doing based on these criteria. Below I have listed all the scan options available to me for MACD and STOCH. If there are any you or Cush think might be worthwhile, I don't mind doing a scan each night and posting the results (if any). If there's anything that interests you, let me know. I can combine any combination of these with additional filters for things like exchange, daily or $ volume, price range, % from 52 or 10 week high or low and many other criteria.

For the STOCH options, I would have to put in appropriate values after the >=, <= signs.

MACD crossover up - 8 day through 12 day
MACD crossover up - 8 day through 17 day
MACD crossover up - 8 day through 25 day
MACD crossover up - 12 day through 25 day
MACD crossover down - 8 day through 12 day
MACD crossover down - 8 day through 17 day
MACD crossover down - 8 day through 25 day
MACD crossover down - 12 day through 25 day
