You mean bail out and die, which is not something that we would ever ask of our servicemen. The chance of a water rescue near the China coast is very remote. This is a bit like the Gary Powers incident all over again. I'm not sure what else can be done other than cease the spy missions or provide a fighter escort, backed up with a shoot to kill missile.
