The total work force reduction is "Due to the U.S. economic slowdown and resulting reduced customer spending," in other words, a reduction in demand. If it looks like a duck (reduction in demand), walks like a duck (reduction in demand), it must be a duck (reduction in demand). It is hard to believe that the press release can be misunderstood.
