Dealah,

Now that's an interesting point indeed. Especially from this side of the porch, (which I admit has gathered cobwebs lately). Now as a big donut fan and a former Softie employee, I can assure you that those ratings are bogus. I bopped over to the Krispy Kreme on Richmond here in Houston, and I thought their glazed donuts were quite good, mostly because they were warm. But the other donuts were nothing spectacular. They were . . . well, "symetrical." Now I could forgive this symetry if the taste were spectacular, but is wasn't. It wasn't bad, and it wasn't good. I've been in Texas 16 years now, and I've not yet run into a donut as good as a jelly donut from the big apple -- one so fat (and ugly) that jelly is oozing from the size.

That's what's wrong with this world -- too much symetry. (I know -- I know ---- I can't spell that word.) Everyone has to have one of those 12 mpg SUVs because they look so darned perfect, like every pill bug (we called them potato bugs up north) you ever saw. Nobody smokes dope anymore because it isn't the thing to do ---- better to put more grease into the hair so that nothing is out of place. EVERYONE has to take their kids to soccer practice; nobody bothers playing in the street anymore.

If I wanted food that looked like a pill, or a car that looked like a pill bug, I'd change my name to George Jetson.

Rooooof
