Sure, let me give it a go. Cisco still considers itself to have lots of places it can invest money that will provide greater incremental business value than in acquiring its own shares to prop up the stock price. Generally, large companies may at times buy back its own shares to signal to Wall Street that they are undervalued. But the quantity that they buy generally is not enough to really create upward pressure on the stock. I would rather see Cisco use its cash hoard to do some serious internal R&D, especially now that they've stopped acquiring other companies for the short term. R&D is a better investment at this point than a stock buy back program. Just my thoughts.
