let me tell ya'll what my current "waste of time" project is ...
I've become very intrigued by the ads on TIVO ...
and I just "know" I can :"build my own" .... hahahaha
Creative (SoundBlaster folks) have some great looking remote controlled stuff on the market ....
a motherboard which can handle DVD, FM tuner, TV tuner, etc by use of a hand held "puncher" ....
so, being the adventuresome type ... possessing NO FEAR ....
I've ordered the parts to build my own TIVO ...
going to use a P900, 512RAM, 30GB 7200rpm WD, ATI Raedon All in Wonder vid card, hook the box up to my new 27in Gateway monitor and have it sit next to our big screen Hitachi ..
and use Creative's SoundBlaster Live Platinum dolby 5.1 sound to drive a Bose Home Entertainment system ...
both the tv and the monitor will use the sound system ... not at the same time, of course ....ggggg
anyone want to come over and help me assemble it and debug ????????
