Khan:
I've noticed before that the quality of posts on SI threads deteriorates after a major setback like PALM has just had. First in come the shorts (or those who claim to have been short) to get their needed "fix" of gloating done, then there are those wish they had been short (but weren't) who just want to tell everyone what a "POS" the company and/or the stock is and always will be and why they'll never buy it, then the more vocal LTB&H's feel compelled to defend their position, and so it goes on for a while.
After a short time, the gadflys depart for other threads, sanity returns, and sane discussion with it.
Palm will live long and prosper, and the PDA market with it. The hundreds of millions of mobile phones in use worldwide for voice and simple message communication attest to the need for mobile communication of voice and data, and just as the wireline communications world now carries more data than voice (a far off dream just 5-6 years ago), so will the mobile communications world, and Palm will have its place in that world - IMO a major one.
I have some thoughts on these lines and some projections of Palm's near term and long term prospects, but I'm going to wait until I return from a much needed West Coast trip to visit my daughter and new (first) granddaughter before I air them here, else I'll have to contend with a ton of hostile and disparaging replies.
Enjoy the coffee, and give my regards to Mark, he's missed here.
